Most people arrive at TVACHA carrying three months of Instagram advice and a shelf of half-used bottles. We start by taking all of it off the table.

Dr. Sanjana Reddy opened the practice in 2014 with one rule that has not moved since: nothing is treated before it is named. Melasma and post-inflammatory pigmentation look identical in a mirror and behave nothing alike. Fungal acne and hormonal acne respond to opposite things. So every first visit here is a proper dermatology consult — dermatoscope, Wood’s lamp where relevant, a look at your medicines, your thyroid, your sleep, your Hyderabad commute in May.

Only then do we discuss devices. Sometimes the honest answer is a ₹700 prescription and eight weeks of patience rather than a laser package. We would rather you heard that from us than found out later.

Twenty-five minutes with a dermatologist. Dermatoscopy, Wood’s lamp for pigment, trichoscopy for hair, and a review of everything you are already using. Baseline photographs in standardised light.

Always. Every first consultation at TVACHA is with Dr. Sanjana Reddy or Dr. Nikhil Rachakonda, both MD dermatologists registered with the Telangana State Medical Council. We do not use counsellors or “skin advisors” to assess patients or recommend treatments.

Therapists perform routine sessions such as medifacials and laser hair reduction, but only on settings prescribed by a doctor and with a dermatologist on the floor.

₹800 for a 25-minute consultation, which includes dermatoscopy, baseline photographs and a printed plan. If you begin treatment with us within 30 days, that ₹800 is adjusted against your first session.

Follow-up teleconsults for existing patients are ₹500. Review appointments that are part of a programme are free.

No, and any clinic that says otherwise is not being straight with you. Lasers used for pigmentation break down excess melanin deposits and improve tone — they do not change your constitutional skin colour, nor should they.

For melasma specifically, we describe it to every patient as a condition that is managed rather than cured. Courses reduce visible pigment; sun exposure, hormones and stopping maintenance can bring it back.

When the wavelength, energy and cooling are chosen for Fitzpatrick IV–V skin, yes — that is the entire reason our platform selection looks the way it does. The risk in darker skin is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from over-aggressive settings.

We patch-test on the jawline 48 hours before your first session at no charge, start conservatively, and escalate only if the previous session settled cleanly.

It depends entirely on what is being treated and how far it has progressed. Broadly: acne peels run four to six sessions, laser toning six to ten, acne-scar resurfacing four to six, and laser hair reduction six to eight per area.

Your written plan states the number before you pay anything, and the mid-course review exists precisely so we can stop early if you have got what you came for.

Some things yes, many things no. Gentle medifacials and certain topical routines are usually fine; oral retinoids, most peels, and several laser protocols are not. Melasma that appears in pregnancy often needs nothing more than photoprotection until after delivery.

Please tell us at the consult if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding — it genuinely changes the plan, and our doctors will discuss the options with you.

About a third of our patients are men. The commonest reasons are pattern hair loss, acne and acne scarring, beard-area folliculitis, and laser reduction for shaping or ingrown hair.

Wednesday evenings run a men’s hair clinic with Dr. Nikhil, which is usually the easiest slot to get.

Medifacials and laser toning have essentially none — mild redness for an hour or two. Superficial peels leave light flaking around day three to five. Microneedling means two days of redness. Fractional CO₂ resurfacing is the significant one: five to seven days of visible healing, and we schedule it around your calendar, not ours.

We keep a small dispensary of cosmeceuticals because some formulations are hard to find in Hyderabad pharmacies. You are under no obligation to buy from us — every prescription is written generically so you can source it anywhere, and we will happily tell you which chemist near you stocks it.

Yes, and a fair number of people do. Bring whatever reports, prescriptions and photographs you have from the other clinic. We will tell you plainly whether the plan you were given is reasonable — including when it is, in which case we will say so and send you back.
